Authentication and connection

Every ItReserve module authenticates with your Reservit account using the API key issued by your Reservit subscription. This key is entered once in your ItReserve module dashboard and is stored encrypted at rest using AES-256 on our infrastructure. The key grants read access to reservation, rate, availability, and folio data depending on which permissions are enabled in your Reservit account. ItReserve never requests write access beyond the specific data operations documented for each module — for example, the Yield Manager writes rate updates back to Reservit channels, but no module modifies guest personal records or reservation histories without explicit property configuration.

Real-time data synchronisation

Modules that require live data — such as the Housekeeping Pro, Yield Manager, and Analytics Board — poll the Reservit API on configurable intervals, typically every 5 to 15 minutes depending on the data type and the volume of activity on your account. For event-driven scenarios, ItReserve registers webhook endpoints with Reservit where the API supports push notifications, allowing near-instant reaction to reservation confirmations, cancellations, and status changes. This approach keeps your ItReserve module state continuously aligned with the source of truth in your Reservit account without requiring you to trigger manual syncs or exports.

Rate limits and API etiquette

Reservit enforces per-account API rate limits to maintain platform stability. ItReserve modules are designed to operate comfortably within those limits by batching requests, using incremental data fetches rather than full reloads, and implementing exponential back-off logic when rate-limit responses are received. If you run multiple ItReserve modules simultaneously on the same Reservit account, request scheduling is coordinated across all active modules to avoid aggregate rate-limit conflicts. Our engineering team maintains a compatibility matrix updated against every Reservit API changelog release.

Security, permissions, and data isolation

ItReserve is a read-mostly integration platform. Modules only request the Reservit API scopes they need — the Invoice Module reads folio data but never touches channel rates; the Reputation Manager reads reservation context but never modifies bookings. All data in transit uses TLS 1.2 or higher. Your Reservit API key can be revoked from your Reservit account at any time to immediately cut access across all connected ItReserve modules. Each property's data is stored in isolated database partitions — there is no shared data store between different ItReserve customers. On request, we provide a full data flow diagram and a signed Data Processing Agreement under GDPR.
