Migration guide
Switching to ItReserve Modules
Whether you are moving from manual Reservit management, an older integration tool or a different set of third-party modules, this guide walks you through everything you need to prepare, the steps involved in migrating each module type, and what to expect during the first weeks of operation.
Before you start: preparation checklist
Complete every item on this list before activating your first ItReserve module. Attempting to activate without these items in place is the single most common cause of setup delays.
Locate your Reservit API key from Settings > Integrations or Settings > API in your Reservit dashboard. Confirm that API access is enabled for your Reservit subscription tier. If the API section is not visible, contact Reservit support to enable it.
Note your Reservit property ID — a short alphanumeric string identifying your property in the Reservit system. This is visible in the Reservit dashboard URL when viewing your property settings.
List the IDs of the rate plans you want ItReserve modules to read or write. Rate plan IDs are visible in the Rates section of your Reservit account. You will need these for Yield Manager and Channel Bridge configuration.
The email address associated with your ItReserve account must be accessible — you will receive your access link and setup instructions at this address within 24 hours of purchase.
If you currently have another third-party tool writing rates or availability to your Reservit account, deactivate it before activating the corresponding ItReserve module. Running two tools that write to the same Reservit fields simultaneously causes conflicts and unpredictable behaviour.
Notify the members of your team who work inside Reservit daily — revenue managers, front desk staff — that new automation modules are being activated. Brief them on what will change (automatic rate updates, automated emails) so they are not alarmed when they see activity they did not manually initiate.
Module-by-module migration notes
Channel Bridge
If you are migrating from a manual channel management process: document all OTA extranets you currently manage manually and compare this list against Channel Bridge's supported niche channel list in the module settings. Channels already supported by Reservit's native channel manager do not need to be added to Channel Bridge — configure Bridge only for channels outside Reservit's standard list.
If you are migrating from another channel management tool: disable the other tool's connections to niche channels before activating Channel Bridge. If the other tool writes reservation data into Reservit, allow 24 hours after deactivation before activating Channel Bridge to ensure there are no pending sync conflicts.
Yield Manager
Before activating Yield Manager, log into Reservit and take a screenshot or export of your current rate plan values for the next 60 days. This gives you a baseline to compare against once Yield Manager begins making automated adjustments. Enter your rate plan IDs in the Yield Manager module settings and configure at least two pricing rules before enabling automation. Start with conservative rule thresholds (large occupancy swings before rate changes trigger) and tighten them as you gain confidence in the module's behaviour.
If you were previously using another dynamic pricing tool: export its configuration — specifically, the rule logic and rate floors and ceilings — and recreate equivalent rules in Yield Manager before switching on automation. The rule engines differ, but the underlying logic translates directly.
Invoice Module
Migration to Invoice Module is straightforward because it does not replace any existing Reservit invoicing function — it adds automation on top. Ensure your Reservit folio configuration is accurate before activation: check that all charge types, VAT codes and billing addresses are correctly set in Reservit for your most recent reservations. Invoice Module reads this data directly; errors in Reservit folios will propagate to generated invoices.
If you have historical invoices from a previous system that corporate clients reference with specific invoice numbers: Invoice Module starts its numbering sequence from your configured prefix. Set this in the Invoice Module settings before generating the first invoice to ensure continuity with your existing numbering convention.
Guest Comms
Before activating Guest Comms, disable any existing automated email sequences running through your Reservit account's native messaging tools or a third-party email tool. Running two automated sequences simultaneously will result in duplicate messages reaching guests. After deactivating the old sequences, wait 48 hours and check that no messages from the old system are still queued before enabling Guest Comms triggers.
Expected migration timeline
Purchase and access
Complete checkout and receive your access email. Log into the ItReserve dashboard via the link in the email. Enter your Reservit API key and verify the connection. The dashboard shows a green connection indicator when authentication is successful.
First module configuration
Configure your first module. For Channel Bridge: map room types and rate plans to target channels. For Yield Manager: enter rate plan IDs and configure initial rules. For Invoice Module: set the invoice prefix, VAT rates and email delivery settings. Each configuration takes 10–30 minutes.
Monitoring and adjustment
Monitor the module's activity log in the ItReserve dashboard. For Yield Manager, review the first set of automated rate changes against your baseline export. Adjust rule thresholds if the changes are more aggressive or conservative than you intended. Contact support@itreserve.org with any unexpected behaviour.
Full operation and reporting
By the end of week two, each active module should be operating without intervention. Begin reviewing Analytics Board data (if subscribed) for channel performance trends. This is also the appropriate time to activate any additional modules you purchased.
Support during migration
Migration support is included with every active ItReserve subscription. During the first 30 days after your first module activation, migration-related support requests are prioritised in our queue — typical response time during this period is within 4 business hours rather than the standard 1 business day.
To receive migration support, email support@itreserve.org with the subject line "Migration support — [your property name]". Include your ItReserve account email, the modules you are migrating to, and a brief description of your current setup. Our team will send a migration checklist review and flag any configuration concerns before your first module goes live.
For properties migrating from a specific named tool (e.g., a competing channel manager or yield management platform), note the tool name in your support email. We have migration notes for the most commonly encountered tools and can provide specific guidance on data export, configuration mapping and overlap management.
